Description: Fundamentals of gene transmission and molecular genetics including an introduction to model organisms, genetic screens as well as bioinformatics and literature interpretation.

• Discussion/Lab:
Fridays           3:10 - 5:00 PM       Bainer Hall 1128
                 
Discussions 1-5 will discussions of literature.
Discussions 6-8 will be instruction in R.
Discussion 9 will be instruction in Plink.
Discussion 10 will be a discussion of model genetic systems.

Grading: 
280 points total.
Five take-home exams, Exam 1, 2, 3 = 40 pts, Ex 4 = 30 pts, Ex 5 = 50 pts.
Ten discussions, each worth 10 pts.
