The 2018 fall quarter offering of this popular course has two 50-minute lectures per week plus a discussion section. Lectures introduce scientific concepts using powerpoint slides, a dozen demonstrations, and 50+ videos. While there will be 8 simple equations and several formulas they are easy to calculate and we provide extensive help.

The discussion sections are where the problems similar to the homework problems are solved in class and where material from lecture that the students would like revisited are discussed interactively.

There is no required text. The lectures powerpoints are posted in pdf format is the reading. (These lecture files are in the files, then lectures folder. Do look for the icon in the upper left corner on these pdf lecture pages as there may be extensive notes to read after double-clicking on that icon).
