Grading:
300 points total.
4 On-line exams, each worth 50 pts.
10 Discussions, PBLs, and Labs, each worth 10 pts.
Syllabus:
Lectures 1-2 Introduction/Bioinformatics and how to read a paper
Lectures 3-5 Model organisms (Yeast, Arabidopsis, Mice, Flies, Fish, Bacteria).
Lectures 6-7 Transmission Genetics
Lectures 8-19 Molecular genetics.
Lectures 20-21 Linkage and association
Lectures 22 Genetic screens.
Discussions 1-4 discussions of literature.
PBLs 1-3 will be problem based learning based on an assigned case.
Attendance at the Human genetics Symposium
