Is America colorblind? Is race real? Are Jews White people? Is race difference primarily a question of biology, culture, or politics? Is the Alt-right new? Why is the framework of “race inequality” more appropriate than the framework of “race relations?” This course is designed to explore the role of cultural, political, and economic structures that have shaped unequal relations between socially defined racial and ethnic groups in the United States.
